myNEB™ the new voice activate lab assistant

Date: 5th June 2019

Voice activate devices around the house are now commonplace and their ease of use and ability to activate hands-free make them an attractive translatable model for the lab. However, and somewhat surprisingly up until now this approach hasn’t yet been adopted in the lab setting at scale.

Now New England Biolabs (NEB) have changed that by announcing the launch of myNEB™ an Alexa cloud-based voice service.  Offering advice on cloning, restriction enzyme details, it has the ability to make experimental calculations and conversions, voice activated timers or listen to podcasts from NEB’s library.  All this can be accessed without moving from the bench or removing those all-important gloves, goggles or lab coat!

For more information read the press release or follow the link therein to access myNEB™.
