Pistoia Alliance tackle lab inefficiency and support AI adoption

Date: 25th February 2019

Method recapitulation is a core element of any experiment and, as part of their MethodDB (Methods Database) project, Pistoia Alliance, a non-profit company looking to transform R&D through collaboration, provides a solution to store, search and retrieve digitised methods with the aim to improve reproducibility, increase data quality and integrity, and to reduce method implementation effort.

In line with this and MethodDB, Pistoia Alliance, together with their collaborators have now released a proof of concept (PoC) software to enable the digitisation of analytical method descriptions and, at its heart, is the use of AI and deep learning. Whilst this proof of concept is initially High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems, if successful it will extend to other methods and is being reported as the initial steps towards building the Lab of The Future (LoTF).
